Participants: Companies, student teams and related faculty members
Results: Commitment of main stakeholders, program objectives, revised program schedule and project plan, confirmed available AUS students (max. 25 participants)

Tue 26 Sep - Robotics and Applications in Construction Industry and BIM

  • Architectural possibilities enabled by the 3D printing technology (free forms, curves, new types of elements etc.)

  • 3D Printing - Case Visitor Center (Kalliosaari)

    • New business logic for the construction (e.g. construction 24/7, less workforce, a faster cash conversion cycle)

    • Autonomous Building Initiative, ABI backed by a Finnish and international consortium (including solar panels, water drilling, purification, autonomous sewage system); from deserts to Mars (see http://www.emiratesmarsmission.ae/)
    • Ideal business models for the UAE and the Gulf area (exports, owning the machine, franchising)
